Living Green.... wait, hear me out!
Alright. Where to start? Well, as you know, I have been behind environmental issues for a while. Nothing major or over the top. And not because all of a sudden it's cool to be green. I can honestly say, "I haven't seen 'An Inconvenient Truth', though I want to." Go back to my first entries, and you will see my plea to recycle more paper. Here's what I do: I like to recycle when I can. I have faith in public transportation. I enjoy having plants. I try to save power, too. Things I want to do: Update all my lighting and buy Energy Star products in the future. Learn how to conserve water, but man do I love my long showers. What I am not worried about: buying everything organic from food to clothing, trying to force people to change. I guess I believe everyone should try to make a small difference not just for the planet, but for people. Save a little money on the bills, give old clothes to people without, and learn to be more open to change. To end global warming will require government and industrial changes. Changes we can push for together by trying new ways to conserve. How much the little things help in comparison to what the government needs to do I don't want to know. But I am still willing to recycle my junk mail, walk to the store a block away, etc.
I have decided to add the idealbite feature to the right column. It features a suggestion of a small way you can try to "live green". The website offers a search feature to check for more ideas by subject. Give it a try if you are anything like me.
